Subaru Impreza is the smallest Subaru lineup, and you can get it as a hatchback or sedan. It is a standard all-wheel drive with no significant differences from last year’s model. Its design, however, gives you a sporty feel without foregoing comfort.

Performance

The 2023 Subaru Impreza has a 2-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 152 hp and 145 pound-ft of torque. While this engine is suitable for daily travel, it gives you less speed than others in the same category. The sedan accelerates from 0-60 mph in 9.0 seconds, while the hatchback does it in 9.2 seconds.

You can choose a five-speed manual gearbox or the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The CVT models are more fuel efficient than the manual ones but are more precise and quieter to drive. The manual models have a rating of 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, while the CVT ones were rated 28 mpg in the city plus 36 on the highway.

While the vehicle could use some more power, driving it is comfortable. It has minimal to no body leans in corners, a quick steering wheel, and firm brake pedals.

Interior And Features

While the Impreza has a limited interior style, it is functional and easy to use. It has five cloth upholstery seats. The front seats are manually adjustable plus height-adjustable, and the rear seat is a 60/40-split fold-down with plenty of leg room. It also has carpeted floor mats plus air conditioning.

It is easy to see out of this vehicle, especially the hatchback model. The cargo space on the hatchback and sedan versions is small, with the sedans’s being around 12.3 cubic feet and the hatchback around 20.8 cubic feet.

The infotainment system has simple controls, easy-to-read gauges, and an intuitive climate-control system. You can get a 6.5 or 8-inch touch screen and a secondary screen on top of your dash. Other features include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, one front USB port, Bluetooth, smartphone integration, and a four-speaker stereo.
